Olivier Franza

Olivier Franza was born in Paris, France, in 1972. He received both the Electrical Engineering degree from the Ecole Supérieure d'Electricité (Supélec), France, and the M.S. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, in 1994. He received both the Doctorat en Sciences degree from Paris XI University, France, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, in 1998.

His graduate research interests were in the areas of numerical modeling and simulation, scattering and inverse scattering, electromagnetic measurements, microwave Tomography, and nondestructive testing.

From 1998 to 2001, he was with the Alpha Development Group at DEC/Compaq, Massachusetts, where he worked on both the Alpha 21364 (EV7) and 21464 (EV8) microprocessors .

Since 2001, he has been with Intel Corporation, Hudson, MA, conducting the implementation of the clock distribution for the Intel IXP28xx network processor family and the digital clock system for a next generation Intel Itanium TM microprocessor. He is currently the clock lead and a member of the power group on a future generation multi-socket Xeon TM microprocessor.
