Lisa Su

Lisa Su is currently Vice President, Technology Development and Alliances in the IBM Systems and Technology Group. She is responsible for the research and development on IBM's advanced silicon process technologies including high-performance SOI technologies, industry-standard foundry technologies, and analog and mixed-signal CMOS/BiCMOS technologies.

Previously Lisa was Director of the PowerPC Product Line which included business responsibility for IBM Microelectronics' high-performance and embedded PowerPC product roadmap. Lisa joined IBM in 1995 and has held various engineering and management positions in CMOS device development. Lisa led the first introduction of copper technologies into manufacturing in the 0.22 micron generation. In 1999, Lisa was Technical Assistant to the Chairman and CEO, Louis V. Gerstner Jr. In 2000, Lisa was named Director of Emerging Products in the Microelectronics Division and started a group to focus on incubating new technologies.

Lisa received her B.S. and M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1991, and her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1994. Her doctoral dissertation was on the design of silicon-on-insulator (SOI) devices for high-performance applications. Lisa has published over 35 technical publications and was named in MIT Technology Review's Top 100 Young Innovators in 2002.
