Olivier Franza

Olivier Franza received the diplôme d'ingénieur from Supélec in France and M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) from the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign (UIUC) in 1994. He graduated in May 1998 with a PhD in ECE from UIUC and with a doctorat en sciences from Université Paris XI, both in electromagnetics.

In 1998, he joined Digital / Compaq and worked on three test chips and on the Alpha 21364 (EV 7) and 21464 (EV 8) microprocessors. He joined Intel in 2001 where he worked on the clock distribution of the IXP 28 xx network processor and lead the digital clock generation and distribution group on next - generation Itanium™ and then Xeon™ microprocessors. As a senior staff technical leader in the area of clock generation and distribution architecture and design since 2005, he is now involved in various Itanium™ projects on different aspects of clock and power design .
