Pier Stanislao Paolucci is CTO and co-founder of Atmel Roma and (part-time) permanent staff researcher of INFN (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare). Since 1984, he participated to the design and development of several generations of Massive Parallel Computers based on custom VLIW processors (INFN APE projects). In Atmel Roma, he coordinated the design of the family of mAgic VLIW DSPs and of Diopsis multiprocessors. He is the coordinator of the SHAPES European Integrated Project. He holds patents on VLIW architectures and published more than 50 scientific papers. Paolucci received his degree in physics from the University of Roma and is a member of IEEE and ACM.
