Let’s FACE the Future of Automotive E/E Architectures
Download SlidesAbstract
This year CEA LIST will present a structuring and innovative project being developed with the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. The FACE project aims at developing a new E/E architecture for new generation of vehicles. The E/E architecture will provide (1) a highly scalable and modular hardware structure able to answer future application needs and support a wide range of vehicles and services; (2) the capacity to execute safety and non-safety heterogeneous applications with a guarantee of non-interference; and will come with (3) a full set of configuration, integration and programming tools. This project will drastically simplify the E/E architecture of the vehicle by replacing tens of ECUs by a centralized computing unit. Besides the safety, the dependability and the security benefits of this approach, the integration costs will be reduced by minimizing the sizing margins at multiple levels, and by exploiting its customizability and scalability.
