GENESIS: AI Vision Processing Platform for Edge Computing
GENESIS is an AI vision processing platform for edge computing. Its primary targets include autonomous driving and factory automation. Since they require both high performance and timeliness along with timely functionality updates, they should be made available on FPGA. GENESIS accelerates the development of such systems. It currently consists of a DSL compiler and a HLS compiler, which enable the generation of high performance FPGA IP from DSL programs. A DNN model compiler will soon be added for further acceleration.
Shuichi Oikawa received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Keio University in 1989, 1991, and 1996, respectively. He is currently an operating officer of the GENESIS Platform Development at Fixstars Corporation, which he joined in 2017. Before joining Fixstars, he worked at Keio University, Carnegie Mellon University, Intel Corporation, Sun Microsystems, Waseda University, and University of Tsukuba. His research interests includes the areas of systems software.
