Dr David Harvey is a Reader in the School of Engineering at
Liverpool John Moores University (JMU), UK, where
he teaches courses in digital systems and integrated circuit design. He is a long-standing member of the world
class Coherent and Electro-Optics Research group (CEORG), concentrating on R & D
for digital image processing systems, particularly hardware and algorithm
design. He is interested in DSP and
reconfigurable FPGA systems, and in the development of architectures and
algorithms for implementation on novel architectures. He is heavily involved with industry in a
range on enterprise projects; the largest presently is as director of the
£2,275,000 Electronic Design and Manufacturing (EDAM) Centre at JMU. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Electrical
Engineers, and has regularly contributed to their technical and committee
activities.
