Reliable Embedded Systems for Critical Applications
Abstract
Embedded systems in critical application domains (aerospace, space, railway …) have generally to operate in severe environments. It poses tremendous challenges to the designers to fulfill the dependability requirements of these systems. The use of conservative design approaches leads to performance and power overheads that are less and less compatible with their increasing complexity. But, the evolutions of existing design approaches cannot be made without ensuring that they will not compromise the reliability and the safety of the system. This talk will present the industrial perspectives and the challenges of the design of dependable embedded systems for critical applications.
