Architecture Challenge for Future Automotive or Embedded Compute SoC

Highly automated systems like Autonomous Driving System require very high compute power. Conventional way to enable such very high performance compute under limited embedded environment is application or function specific (hard-wired) logics. But algorithms for these systems are evolving and quickly improved. It means fixed function logics are no longer effective. On the other hand, evolution of computer and semiconductor technologies will now enabling replacement these hardware by processors. It will have capability of true generic flexible and scalable SoCs which will help system designers who are facing difficulty to find good or reasonable SoCs for future systems. I will explain about this concept and introduce one example of implementation to support this concept.
Biography
Hideki Sugimoto has over 25 year experience in NEC as a processor architect, designer and also IP/MCU/SoC designer. Currently serves as CTO of NSITEXE, Inc. 100% subsidiary of DENSO Corporation and working to innovate embedded SoC architecture to makes it more generic, flexible and scalable.
