Multiprocessor System on Chip community: To gather experts from different fields to learn

Abstract

The MPSoC Forum, established in 2001, was the first interdisciplinary forum that brought together leading thinkers from different fields to design multicore and multiprocessor SoCs. Over the past 20 years, MPSoC has been a unique opportunity to combine academic and industrial perspectives, and hardware and software. MPSoC launched a new era of computing to explore a dual challenge: to create hardware-multicore computing architectures that can be easily used by software designers and to create distributed software that fully exploits the capabilities of the hardware. This presentation tell the history of 20 years of research on MPSoC.

Biography

Ahmed Amine JERRAYA received the PhD degree from the University of Grenoble in 1989. He served as General Chair for DATE 2001 and as general chair of ESWEEK2012. In 2001 he cofounded MPSoC (Multiprocessor SoC), the pluridisciplinary forum. He hold a research director position at CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) untill 2007. He joined CEA  2007. He is VP Cyberphysical systems at CEA-Tech.
