Title:

System-Level Exploration and Synthesis through Interoperability with HSL tools

Abstract:

SpaceStudio by Space Codesign is an electronic design software for creating embedded electronics systems at system level. SpaceStudio covers the electronics design flow end-to-end (algorithm/architecture/implementation) and automates co-design of hardware and software components at a higher abstraction. Engineers can rapidly evaluate and optimize hardware and software options in their design architecture to achieve performance and power goals. The final hardware can be generated along with compiled software executables, while taking care of communication details (bus interface, adapters, glue logic, etc.). In this presentation we give an overview of our flow with particular emphasis on the interoperability between SpaceStudio and existing HLS tools in order to perform architectural exploration and co-synthesis of HW/SW embedded systems.

Bio:

Guy Bois is professor at the Department of Computer and Software Engineering of Polytechnique de Montreal. He is also cofounder and president of Space Codesign Systems Inc. His research interests include Electronic System Level (ESL), more precisely virtual platforms, architectural exploration, cosynthesis and functional verification. Guy's expertise in leading his research lab has extended to guiding the launch of Space Codesign Systems Inc. He received his bachelor and PhD degrees in computer science from the University of Montreal.
