Title:

PUF-based Security Enhancement for Automotive Software Update

Abstract:

In recent automotive vehicles, more and more functionalities are implemented in software. After-sales update of automotive software, which is often called reprogramming, is crucial in order to improve the safety and security of the vehicles. At present, software update is done at authorized garages, but it costs a lot of time and money. This talk describes our ongoing research project on remote update of automotive software. PUF (physically unclonable function) is utilized in order to realize remote software update in a secure and cost-efficient manner.
