Title:

Study of Cockpit management system
Refer to Automotive 2025 consumer edition

Abstract:

Recent semiconductor into vehicle is showing rapid growth in functionality and performance. Self-driving technologies and deep-learning is now the driving force behind the semiconductor industory. The cockpit management system is expected to implement many functions of non-vehicle centric control such as dashboard, audio and navigation.

SoC on board cockpit management system must be capable of much higher performance and more features, in order to realize these features. However, we should be aware that these predictions will be strongly influenced by market requirements. Therefore, investigation report provided by IBM, "Automotive 2025 consumer edition" will be used for market predictions. This report is based on IBM investigation result of 175 executives from 21 countries. This presentation will present functional elements required for SoC of cockpit management system, starting from predicting the required features for the ncockpit management system based on the report and then breaking down into system design.

Bio:

Yoshifumi Sakamoto is an associate partner of IBM Japan Ltd., and in charge of principal consultant of Advanced Information Technology for automotive. I received the Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, in 2014. I was engaged in research of Systems development method utilizing Reverse modeling and Model-based Simulation in the graduate school of Kyushu University.

I joined IBM in 1985. I was responsible for the design and development personal computers, embedded systems and ASIC/SoC. After that, I was responsible for the project manager of ASIC and SoC development project. I responsible for the program manager of the multiple SoC development, and became a technical consultant to apply an advanced information technology into automobile. Currently, I am working as a consulting engineer of a vehicle centric control system and In-Vehicle Infotainment system.
