Innovation Trends in Image Sensor Technologies

Abstract

Digital imaging are ubiquitous and fundamental tools being part of our daily life. Recent evolution of image and optical sensor technologies elevated the quality of our digital memories almost to perfection, creating new ways to capture and disseminate information, and ultimately positively impact our society and quality of life. In the last decade, several technological breakthroughs changed the world of imaging and optical sensing. This talk will provide an in-depth overview of recent advancements and emerging trends in new imaging technologies, analyzing the fundamental building blocks at system-, circuit- and device-level that have driven innovation in this domain.

Biography

Yosuke Ueno is a Deputy Senior General Manager of Sony Semiconductor Solutions. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in applied physics from the University of Tokyo in 2001 and 2003, respectively. In 2005, he joined Sony Corporation and has been engaged in research and development of mixed-signal circuits for various applications including image sensors.
