Transportation

Nagoya-Chubu International Airport (a.k.a. Central Japan International Airport or Centrair) is the closest airport. At the airport, take a Meitetsu train bound for Gifu. It takes about an hour and costs JPY 1,310 from the airport to Gifu Station. The trains operate three times an hour. Note that some trains require seat reservation, named µ-ticket (mu-ticket), which costs additional JPY 350. From Gifu Station to the convention center or hotel, we recommend you to take a taxi if you are not a frequent traveller to Japan. Approximately, it takes 15 minutes at JPY 1,800, but may vary depending on traffic. If you are familiar with Japanese transportation, you may want to take a bus which takes 20 minutes at JPY 200. For more detailed information, click "Access" and "Bus Guide" on the website of Nagaragawa Convention Center.

If you plan to come by a Shinkansen super-express train, get off at Nagoya Station. You should NOT get off at Gifu-Hashima Station. Take a JR train (or a Meitetsu train) from Nagoya to Gifu Station, then take a taxi or bus to the conference site.
