Abstract
The smart connected product market is expected to grow in the next 3-4 years to 30-50 billion devices. The relevant application areas will be smart homes and buildings, health care, industrial and automotive just to name the major ones. The requirements and use cases for these devices are very fragmented requiring i.e. heterogenous integration between different types of semiconductor devices. New sensors, low power connectivity standards, algorithms will be necessary to manage i.e. extended battery life. The borders between data in the cloud and local analytics is another hot topic which will require new standards and approaches.
