Abstract

There is no doubt the Exascale era is around the corner. All sectors, in the industry and in the academic and scientific community, are looking forward to it, demanding ever more powerful computing systems to handle ever growing volumes of data.

Nevertheless, reaching the exaflops with a Linpack benchmark is one thing, delivering a round-the-clock production supercomputer at that scale is quite another. Containing the power budget, ensuring processors are focused on computation, guarantying efficient communications at any load level, and reconciling data throughput and capacity, are some of the challenges the HPC community has to take up.

We will detail how Atos is contributing to the shift to this new computing scale.
